On today’s Writer Wednesday I’m spotlighting fellow indie author and horror novelist ToddRussell. Everyone say, “Hi, Todd!”
Most specifically, I’m spotlighting his short story collection, Mental Shrillness.
Now, I’ve never been a short story person, but I’m really getting into them now I have my Kindle. If you’ve never been into short stories before, it’s a great way to try a new author or genre. Sort of like dipping your toe into the pool before doing a full cannon ball. Plus there’s something incredibly satisfying about finishing a tale during a twenty minute tube ride. Or maybe that’s just me.
But I digress.
The stories contained herein are, in a word, creepy. We’re talking severe creepiness factor here, people. I mean shards of glass spontaneously erupting from … oh, wait. I don’t want to give anything away. You have to buy the book and get all creeped out with me. Deal?
Deal.
If you like Poe, Stephen King, or Jack Wallen or are just a fan of horror in general, you’re going to like these little tales of the twisted. That’s my 2 pence.
Mental Shrillness is available both in eBook and paperback.
